Ozarks Farm

A nice example of a well-kept and preserved Ozarks cabin is on the Parker-Hickman farm, part of the Buffalo National River near the Erbie campground north of Jasper, Ark. It was built between 1847 and 1849 and was occupied by the Hickman family from 1912 until 1978, then was purchased in 1982 by the National Park Service. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a fine red cedar log structure, later improved with updates here and there to expand and or improve livability. All of the out buildings are there and well cared for by the park staff.
